Kinnect Movement provides local, quality, friendly, affordable exercise classes and is all about moving well for life.  Each session offers a little of what you need – balancing strength with flexibility, stability with mobility and stress with rest, to enhance vitality and inhabit your body with ease. 

Kinnect Movement offers mat-based sessions using small props and equipment, with exercises designed to infuse pilates principles into a diverse movement experience.  Programmes reflect an influence of functional fitness, injury management, yoga, as well as natural movement.  We use precise positions, mindful breath & movement to improve body awareness, core stability, muscle tone, mobility, co-ordination & focus. 

People need to move their bodies to be healthy and regular movement practice has become a choice for all ages, genders and fitness levels who want to thrive.  Regular practice has a profound effect on posture, breathing, stress release, well-being & compliments other exercise programmes or sports training.  Kinnect offers a class for everyone.

Based in North Waikato, group sessions are offered during the school term and private sessions by appointment.  Classes are held in the tranquil country setting at the Waerenga Community Hall and in the movement studio at the Te Kauwhata Community Fitness Centre.

CLASS MENU

RE: move – a guided transition after injury or as a gentle approach to moving better.

Daily Dose – not too easy, not too hard, just a mix of everyday movement maintenance to keep you strong, supple and fit for life.

RE: form – keeping your most valuable asset in top condition with the perfect complement to your work day.  This session has a focus on strength, mobility and body mechanics to get the job done.

RE: wind – this session is the elixir of youth for more mature men. Turn back the clock on tight muscles, stiff joints, loss of balance, and maintain strength and vitality. 

Challenge – exploring possibilities with a blend of movement from the worlds of pilates, yoga, functional fitness and natural movement.  Some experience recommended.

RE: play – an outdoor, family friendly session includes strength, stretch and motor skills wrapped up in the simple joy of moving just for fun (offered Terms 1 & 4).

  • Group sessions are small & personal – BOOKING IS REQUIRED.
  • All sessions are 1 hour.
  • Mats & equipment provided.
  • Term fees are due in first week of classes.
  • Missed sessions can be booked within the current term where space is available.
  • Fees can be pro-rated for planned absences.

 



ABOUT.....

 

Kinnect Movement provides instruction and training in a variety of movement styles and exercise methods.  Programmes reflect the ecclectic background and experience of me, Kirstie Hill.  I have a B Sc in Kinesiology (the study of human movement) and 25 years in health & fitness.  I have worked in the areas of injury management and rehabilitation, as well as the pilates method and aqua therapy.  I also have a lifetime love of dance and spent 15 years teaching Tap to both children and adults.  Kinnect Movement was launched in 2007 as an umbrella to encompass all of my interests and it’s a privilege to contribute to the health & wellness of my local community.
